Gale Kohl of Gale's Restaurant in Pasadena
is a supporter of many worthy causes. One such effort is her "Art For
Animals" show. Gale donates proceedings from any sales of the animal
paintings that she will display to her favorite animal charity.
Happily, she invited me to participate, so
along with some of the animal paintings she has already seen, I thought
I'd work on a few new ones for the show. This little duck will be one
of those I will bring over for her to display in the show next month.
I sometimes like to paint on a gessoed hard board. The slicker surface is a whole different feel than using canvas or linen supports and provides a fun change of pace when I'm painting.

I met a fabulous photographer named Jerry Condit
when my friend brought him to a party. Since then I have enjoyed
seeing his fabulous art online on Facebook. His topics have a wide
range, but they are always compelling. This little duck caught my eye
as something I might want to paint and when I asked him, he said, "Go
for it." So I did.
Thanks, Jerry!

It is beautiful, Marian, and I can easily see why you wanted to paint this one. Love the animal charity idea too. So needed!
Hi Sherry,
I know you love your animals. I remember reading about the anguish you felt during tough times when you had to make decisions for your loved ones.
Happily days are better and you're enjoying some animal friends again.
I love your little duck. Not so easy to paint ducks.
Thanks, Johanna... Not so easy to paint anything, I think... but always (well almost always) fun.
Hugs...
Good Morning Marian!... This sensitive impression of this mallard hen... "puddlin' her way" reminded me ever so much of my very own "Jemima Puddle Duck", Allison... the subject of my last post!
"Finding Her Way"... a great title Marian... to go along with a painterly and captivating wildlife moment! A gem!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
